This vacancy is with the Near Mine Exploration department in Boliden, with approximately 12-month duration.
Tasks
Your main duties are core logging, geochemical sampling, interpretation, supervision of drill programs, both in field and underground, compiling of information and reporting. The work is both independent and in teams.
The position is a fixed-term position for approximately one year and is based in Boliden.
Your qualifications
You have a University degree in a Geoscientific field.
Experience from mining and/or exploration is a merit.
Good knowledge of spoken and written English or Swedish.
Good computer and communication skills (verbal and written).
You should be self-managing, service oriented, creative, and have the ability to cooperate with others.
Driver’s license for car is required.

Specialist Geologist – Structural Geology and 3D modelling
To the Exploration department – Expert Group Exploration

Work tasks
As specialist in structural geology, you will be responsible for providing structural geology and 3D modelling expertise to ongoing exploration programs, as well as running your own specialized projects. Your work tasks will include:
· Assisting and providing specialist support in the planning of field mapping and/or drilling campaigns
· Assisting and providing specialist support in the collection, management, interpretation and modelling of structural geology data collected in the field and in drill core
· Contributing to the development and use of 3D modelling and integrated interpretation in the day-to-day operations
· Educating the staff in how to collect and interpret structural geology data
· Improve our understanding of mineral systems and their structural geology frameworks
· Contributing to the development and implementation of new methods and technologies
· Representing Boliden in external research projects
We endeavor to ensure mobility within the company and this position will involve some travel and short periods working in other countries. The position is permanent employment, full-time Monday to Friday and based in the Boliden Office. You will report to Manager Expert Group Exploration.
Education and experience
We are looking for an MSc or PhD in Geoscience with minimum of 10 years' experience within the mining and exploration industry or with comparable background. You should have experience working with common industry software. Advanced knowledge of 3D modelling software like Leapfrog and GOCAD is desirable. This position requires proficiency in both written and spoken English. You will be expected to be a skilled communicator and be result-oriented, flexible and capable of working independently and as part of a team, with the aim of contributing to the company's development. An EU category B driving license, or equivalent, is a requirement.

Det här är ett uppdrag som bokstavligen tar dig till malmen, ger erfarenhet som breddar din kompetens och möjlighet att fokusera på jobbet och på annat i livet.

Med ett ansvarsfullt och säkert arbetssätt skapar du goda relationer, kommunicerar och samarbetar bra med andra på svenska och engelska. Du behöver vara utbildad inom geologi, gärna med inriktning mot berggrund och gruva och ha körkort för personbil. Du kan jobba i system och kommer att använda CAD-verktyg som Deswik.
