Comminution Reimagined Sweden AB (CRS) develops a revolutionary and energy-saving grinding technology for the mining industry. We work with internationally leading mining companies and together we want to contribute to the green transition.
CRS is seeking a post-graduate engineer [CW1] to conduct a comprehensive programme of flotation recovery testing for a novel new technology. The programme is being run on a mine site in Northern Sweden. The programme is envisaged to last for 12 months and the initial contract with the successful applicant will therefore be for 12 months.
Job description:
The successful applicant will develop and execute a comprehensive programme of structured and systematic test work to assess the flotation response of a range of mineral bearing ores prepared according to different grinding regimes and recovered using a range of flotation equipment. This will involve:
Assessing the test requirements and determining the appropriate flotation technologies to be used.
Preparing a detailed test plan and protocols for all tests.
Designing the chemical recipes for each test.
Preparing ore samples milled under a range of grind sizes using different equipment, including splitting and sizing samples.
Conducting series of batch and continuous flotation tests.
Processing test samples, analysing results and reporting recovery performance.
Assisting in understanding the physics and chemistry behind the test results and recommending changes to recovery methodologies.
Assisting in planning the scale up of the test work to production scale testing, and potentially co-ordinating a large-scale test programme.

The successful candidate will work closely with a small team on site and interact remotely with the company engineers and a network of global mineral processing experts. He or she will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision, interpret outcomes and provide direction to the ongoing test program.

Prerequisite skills and experience
The applicant must have the following:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in mineral processing or chemical engineering with a mineral processing major and a Master’s degree in Mineral Processing.
Experience in conducting laboratory flotation tests.
Hands-on experience operating Hydrofloat and conventional float cells.
Demonstrated ability to analyse flotation test data.

Experience in standard mineral processing sample processing (screening, assay, calculation of recoveries, rate equations etc.)
Highly recommended experience and training
Understanding of mineralogy
Training in geometallurgy

General skills and aptitude
Enjoy conducting detailed laboratory test work.
Good at data analysis and extracting trends and relationships from data.
Self-motivated.
Aspiration to build a career in mineral processing and develop skills and experience in the mining industry.
Be fluent in spoken and written English, and ideally be at least conversant in Swedish (the team of global collaborators uses English as their common language, but the site team is Swedish).

Location
