The role of a Senior Factory Simulation engineer includes validating and optimizing system designs to be feasible, efficient and lean to meet production volumes. Main tool is discrete event simulation using multidisciplinary input parameters. The Senior Factory Simulation Engineer is identifying potential areas where simulation could optimize and improve the production design and deliver simulation results in time to have maximum impact.
Key responsibilities
Evaluate, validate and optimize system design projects and factory layout design by simulating concepts.
Plan and agree on simulation objectives, input parameters and time plan.
Adjusting the simulation level of detail to the objectives and time plan.
Using a standardized, modular, reusable and collaborating approach to simulation modelling.
Document and presenting simulation result with a clear focus on simulation objectives, using intuitive visualizations and a statistically strengthen simulation studies.
Evaluate production controls used in production areas.
Evaluate operating models used in production areas.
Evaluate overall production capacity in production blocks.
Support the Northvolt philosophy on a high level by capturing best practice manufacturing system configurations to meet production demands.
Developing internal way of working within Factory Simulation Engineering, pushing the frontier of modern factory/production design practices.
Develop and train other Engineering colleagues in technical software and ways of working
Identify potential areas where simulation could optimize and improve production design
Identify and proactively deliver simulation results to have maximum impact on factory and process design.

Requirements
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor or M.Sc. in Engineering, preferably within Production Management/Logistics or Bachelor or M.Sc. in Applied and Computational Mathematics/Data Science/Robotics, with a focus on statistics and optimization
6+ years of professional experience with material flow simulations or digital manufacturing.
Previously worked with designing material flows or within internal logistics.
Extensive experience with Siemens Plant Simulation or other Discrete Event Simulation (DES) tools.
Extensive experience in programming.
Extensive experience in data analysis.
Experience with working in an international environment.
Experience in developing Ways of Working and Guideline documents
Experience working with relevant standards that impact factory design is a plus
Experience with big data and machine learning is a plus.
Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS
MSc Degree: Holders of an MSc degree in Chemical, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
Statistics and Multivariate Data Analysis: Knowledgeable in statistics and multivariate data analysis.
Quality Management Experience: Prior experience in quality management within a relevant industry.
Lean and Six Sigma: Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Expert in SPC and Quality Troubleshooting: Expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality troubleshooting tools.

PFMEA: Proficiency in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

About the position
As an Equipment Installation Engineer you will support the Lead Installation Engineer. You will follow the whole installation process of the machines required for cells manufacturing from the call-off of the machines in the building up to the mechanical completion.

As an Equipment Installation Engineer you would have following responsibilities:
• Plan the installation of equipment in coordination with the equipment supplier

• Call-off the equipment from the storage area to the building

• Coordinate the installation of the equipment and support the equipment supplier

• Verify the plan for the installation is followed and escalate to the Lead installation engineer if it is not

• Coordinate the mechanical and electrical hook-ups to the equipment

• Attend weekly meetings with the equipment supplier

• Prepare weekly report and record the equipment supplier attendees

• Assure the installation is performed safely


Your profile
Qualifications:
• Mechanical/Electrical background

• Experience: 3 years or more

• Ability to work in a Team and in a challenge environment

• Strong communication and organization skills

• Fluent in English (written and oral)

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
The Production Engineer will participate in and drive projects, investigation and actions with the purpose to solve problems and increase efficiency in manufacturing. You will be participating in the implementation of new equipment and play an important role in solving quality problems.
