High level purpose of function.
As a Program Quality Engineer, your responsibility lies in collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality requirements are embedded throughout the product development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate closely with the Program Quality Manager and cross-functional teams to actively contribute to the strategic development and execution of the Program Quality Plan, ensuring alignment with APQP methodology and business objectives.
· Take ownership of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) - ensuring documentation is prepared according to customer-specific requirements and submitted in alignment with project timelines and the latest standards.
· Manage Change Management (CM) cases, ensuring all engineering changes are assessed for quality impact, documented appropriately, and closed in a timely manner.
· Participate in cross-functional APQP activities, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams to ensure robust product and process design.
· Support DM activities by reviewing deviation changes, tracking validation status and helping ensure potential quality risks are identified and addressed early in the development process.
· Coordinate and support process and product validations, including MSA, capability studies, run-at-rate, and production trials leading to SOP.
· Monitor open quality-related risks and issues within the program and track their closure via structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
· Interface with customer quality and engineering teams during program development to ensure expectations are understood, documented, and integrated into the launch process.
· Lead or support internal Gate Reviews, ensuring all quality deliverables are met before progressing to the next project phase.
· Prepare and present quality performance data and readiness status during program reviews and management updates.
· Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing and applying lessons learned from previous programs and product launches.
· Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, production, logistics, supplier quality) to ensure alignment on program milestones and quality requirements.
· Support supplier PPAP reviews, incoming part validation, and ensure supplier quality readiness in alignment with program timelines.
· Ensure all customer portals are monitored for updates to program-specific quality deliverables and requirements during development phases.

Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role.
Qualifications and experience
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
· Solid grasp of quality management processes, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
· Solid understanding of automotive quality systems and standards (e.g., IATF 16949, VDA, APQP).
· Familiarity with PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and other APQP core tools.

Arbetsuppgifter
Sektionen för Process- och Produktutveckling på Boliden Rönnskär i Skellefteå söker förstärkning med en Senior Utvecklingsingenjör då en av våra erfarna medarbetare går i pension.
Som Utvecklingsingenjör arbetar du med att utveckla och effektivisera våra metallurgiska processer. I arbetsuppgifterna ingår också att stötta produktionsorganisationen. Du initierar, driver och deltar i kvalificerade utredningar och försök. Arbetet bedrivs ofta självständigt men alltid i samråd med andra och ibland även i projektform. Du kommer att arbeta tillsammans med kollegor inom sektionen men även med driftspersonal på olika produktionsavsnitt. Arbetet har både teoretiska och praktiska inslag.
Just denna tjänst kommer att ha en något mer praktisk inriktning och arbeta mycket med smältförsök, framtagning av smältrecept, tillverkning av standarder, provtagning och provberedning från försök och tester, körning med TG-MS (Termografisk våg med Masspektroskopi) och SEM (Svepelektronmikroskop) samt även delta i normala arbetsuppgifter som Utvecklingsingenjör.
Detta är antingen något du redan har erfarenhet av eller gärna vill lära dig. Initial upplärning kommer att ske genom att gå parallellt med nuvarande Utvecklingsingenjör.
Arbetet är förlagt till Rönnskär. Resor kan förekomma, men är av kortare karaktär. Du rapporterar till Sektionschef samt även till olika projektgrupper.
Utbildning/Kvalifikationer
Arbetet som Utvecklingsingenjör innebär många olika kontaktytor både inom organisationen och mot externa parter, det är därför viktigt att du är kommunikativ och har ett öppet förhållningssätt. För denna typ av roll krävs det att du som person är nyfiken och har en kreativ sida. Vidare är viktiga egenskaper att du är ihärdig och självgående i ditt arbetssätt då arbetsuppgifterna kan vara komplexa och ta tid. För att bli framgångsrik i rollen ser vi även att du är noggrann och har ett analytiskt angreppssätt på frågeställningar.

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Process Quality Associate to join our passionate Quality team to support our electrode production line in Northvolt Ett, our Gigafactory located in Skellefteå.

The Process Quality Associate will be in charge of product quality compliance in our production line. You will be responsible for confirming key quality attributes of intermediate products and processes, identifying and responding to non-conformity issues in production.

The Process Quality Associate will work closely with production staff and Process Quality Technicians and Engineers. Working shifts is required as operations ramp up. Flexibility and willingness to do overtime to cover production peaks is expected. Primary goal for this position is to help ensure quality along all production steps and product outcome to create a stable process environment during production. Previous experience in a production environment is a plus.

You will be responsible for ensuring that production processes and products meet the Northvolt’s and Customers’ quality specifications, defining in-line problems and recommending and following-up on improvements.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Lead day-to-day quality assurance activities in production ensuring that production/product quality specifications are met.

· Operate various analytical equipment such as a Karl Fischer, measurement by ruler or micrometer, microscopes etc.

· Ensure control checks are completed according to control plan.

· Ensure imminent containment activities and decision making in case of non-conformities and quality issues

· Provide trainings to employees.

· Participate in and improve 5S methodology and actions together with production team

· Experience with high volume serial manufacturing processes is a plus

Your future mission

We are currently seeking driven individuals with laboratory experience to join our team as Quality Control Technicians. In this role, you will be working in our chemical laboratory, performing various analyses and tests of incoming materials as well as production samples. Your main responsibility will be to inspect and test materials, products, and equipment to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards.

Are you up to the task?

To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who are systematic and eager to learn. As part of our production team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and ensuring that our products meet customer expectations. It's important to note that our production runs 24/7, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. As a result, you must be willing to work rotating shifts, including morning, evening, and night shifts.

Requirements:

• Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
• Highly organised, results driven and an eye for details
• Proactive and goes beyond expectations

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process samples for quality control testing
• Develop, validate, define, and implement inspection methods for tested materials
• Perform measurements using various methods and equipment
• Prepare samples for testing according to established procedures
• Report test results accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with R&D teams for product quality evaluation and root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with safety routines in the laboratory

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or technical school degree) preferably in Chemical or Material Engineering or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in quality control and assurance, preferably on the manufacturing shop floor
• Knowledge about safety routines in the laboratory
• Strong background in sample receiving, measuring methods, sample preparation, and result reporting
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
